Job Summary
Paraprofessional position in Boston Public Schools (Temporary Vacancy through the end of the school year) supporting direct instruction to children individually, in small groups, and in classroom settings; assist in classroom activities, prepare instructional materials, manage behavior, supervise field trips, and perform related duties as assigned. Requires high school diploma or GED plus 48 college credits or an associate's degree (or ParaPro/WorkKeys certification) and at least two years of experience with young children; US work authorization required by start date. Preferred: associate's or bachelor’s degree; teaching certification or social-work license; multilingual abilities in languages used by the district.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Forty-eight (48) Credit Hours of College Coursework or an Associate's Degree, or a passing score on ParaPro or WorkKeys
- Minimum of two years experience working with young children
- Current authorization to work in the United States - Candidates must have such authorization by their first day of employment
