Job Summary
Support direct instruction to children individually, in small groups, and in classroom settings while providing assistance with classroom activities and preparing instructional materials. Manage individual and classroom behavior using prescribed approaches, supervise students on field trip activities, and assist with classroom set up and clean up. Perform other related duties as requested by the Head of School or Principal. This role is an anticipated vacancy expected to be open by September 2, 2026, with the possibility of starting as a Long-Term Substitute if the position does not vacate by the school year start. Candidates require a high school diploma, 48 college credit hours, or relevant certification, plus two years of experience working with young children.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Forty-eight (48) Credit Hours of College Coursework or an Associate's Degree, or a passing score on one of the two following Formalized Standardized Assessments: ParaPro Assessment or WorkKeys Certificate of Proficiency for Teacher Assistants
- Minimum of two years experience working with young children
- Current authorization to work in the United States
Desired Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's Degree
- Certification as a teacher or license as a social worker
- Fluency in Spanish, Creole (Cape Verdean), Creole (Haitian), Chinese, Vietnamese, Portuguese, or Somali
