Job Summary
Paraprofessionals assist teachers in delivering high-quality educational support in Boston Public Schools. Responsibilities include providing direct instruction, preparing materials, managing classroom behavior, and supervising students during activities. Required qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, completion of required college credit or assessments, two years of experience with children, and valid work authorization. Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Forty-eight (48) Credit Hours of College Coursework or an Associate's Degree, or a passing score on the ParaPro Assessment or WorkKeys Certificate of Proficiency for Teacher Assistants
- Minimum of two years experience working with young children
- Current authorization to work in the United States
Desired Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's Degree
- Certification as a teacher or license as a social worker
- Fluency in one of BPS' official languages
