Job Summary

Provide engaging, motivating, and relevant one-on-one and small group academic and behavioral support to students with a variety of needs in the classroom using plans and modifications supported by case managers. Collaborate regularly with grade level and Special Education teams regarding individual students' progress, providing data and anecdotal information on scholar progress during instruction. Teach, support, and enhance school-wide systems and expectations while actively engaging in professional development, learning opportunities, and school-wide efforts including diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives. Support functional and adaptive needs as assigned, such as toileting and feeding assistance, and continuously use feedback to make productive changes in instructional practices and overall performance. Complete all administrative requirements meeting deadlines and participate in additional activities including field trips, intensive academic support sessions, and other required programs throughout the year.

Required Qualifications

At least two years of study (60 semester hours) at an accredited institution of higher education
An Associate's degree (or higher)
An approved state or local academic assessment that measures the paraprofessional's knowledge of an ability to assist instruction at the appropriate level
Passing the ParaPro Assessment (ETS.org) with a minimum passing score of 456
Openness to feedback
Desire to continue development as a professional
Willingness to take responsibility for student outcomes and achievement
Regular and punctual attendance
Ability to work effectively with and respond to diverse cultures or backgrounds
