Job Summary
Paraprofessional, Special Education Mild/Moderate supports certified staff in implementing instructional goals for students with disabilities. Responsibilities include assisting with reading, language arts, math, computer instruction, and other skills; working with students individually and in small groups; aiding in the administration and correction of classroom exercises and assessments; preparing instructional materials; documenting student progress; supporting behavior management to maintain a safe, orderly classroom; supervising non-instructional activities (lunch, bus, playground, study hall); accompanying students on field trips; assisting with parent contact to foster involvement; supporting students with special needs across activities and facilitating inclusion and participation in accordance with IEP objectives. Travel between schools may be required. Qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, ability to lift up to 40 lbs, and effective communication and collaboration skills. Contract position, 29 hours per week, 177 days per year, non-benefit eligible, located at Sterling Elementary School (High-Needs School).
Required Qualifications

- Prior experience working with special needs children desirable
