Job Summary
Paraprofessional assists a special education teacher to support students with disabilities ages 3–21 in accessing the general or adapted curriculum across settings, with duties including preparing instructional materials, implementing accommodations/modifications per IEP, providing individual and small-group instruction, reinforcing behavior standards, maintaining confidentiality and student records, assisting with technology and augmentative communication devices, supervising students, and helping with classroom organization and daily living skills as needed; work is light with physical tasks as outlined and requires collaboration to promote student independence.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of two years college experience OR successfully completed Parapro Assessment
- Parapro assessment can be completed with MCPS by appointment
