Job Summary
Assist lead Autism classroom teacher by supporting students on the Autism spectrum, coordinating with SPED staff on lesson plans and activities, and performing classroom and clerical tasks. Responsibilities include implementing behavior management strategies, observing, recording and charting student behaviors, participating in crisis management as directed by the SPED Teacher, transporting students to classes, supervising students in the classroom, and administering health-related tasks (medication) as directed by the school nurse. Maintain confidentiality, communicate effectively with students, staff, and the public, and support the development of individualized learning experiences aligned with students' needs. Must be flexible, dependable, and able to adhere to district policies; fingerprinting/background checks are required after offer acceptance. Occasional duties include attendance at trainings and performing other assigned tasks in support of the Special Education program.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED required. Two years post-secondary study, Associates degree or higher preferred.
