Job Summary
Assist in conducting testing, assessment, multi-media activities, record-keeping, and discipline for middle and high school students with disabilities in integrated, resource, and community settings. Provide daily living procedures including toileting, diapering, feeding, and personal hygiene, as well as medically invasive tasks like tube feeding and catheterization following universal precautions. Support lesson plan development, coordinate with students and parents on educational issues, and facilitate community activities such as job coaching and public transportation use. May provide transportation assistance by driving an activity bus and lift students using appropriate equipment. Requires a valid Colorado driver's license, completion of de-escalation and physical restraint training within 75 days, and the ability to meet physical demands. Live and work in Colorado.
Required Qualifications
- Must pass District approved written and physical exams covering de-escalation and physical restraint training
- Required training must be completed within 75 days of initial hire
- Must have a valid Colorado driver's license or be able to obtain a Colorado driver's license within the state's required time frame for new residents
- Must meet the District's insurability requirements
- Have the ability with or without accommodations to meet the physical demands of the position
- Live and work with a permanent home address in Colorado
