Job Summary
Paraprofessional position in Denver Public Schools for 6th–8th grade students with disabilities, supporting educational, behavioral, social-emotional, physical and daily living needs across integrated, resource, self-contained, and community settings. Responsibilities include assisting with testing and assessment, multi-media activities, record-keeping, and computer operation; providing daily living support (toileting, diapering, feeding, personal hygiene); may perform medically invasive procedures (tube feeding, catheterization) and daily living tasks following universal precautions; may assist with community support activities (job coaching, transit use); may provide transportation by driving an activity bus; lifts/transports students using appropriate equipment; assists with developing lesson plans and provides feedback to teachers; communicates with students and parents about routine educational issues. Requires completion of district training on de-escalation and physical restraint, and validation of a Colorado driver’s license for transportation duties. Located in Denver, CO; full-time role with hourly salary range $22.824 to $27.275 per hour for new hires (internal candidates may see $22.824 to $27.275). Required Qualifications
- Valid Colorado driver’s license or ability to obtain within the state’s required time frame for new residents and meet the District’s insurability requirements.
- Willingness to undergo District approved written and physical exams covering de-escalation and physical restraint training on an annual basis; training to be completed within 75 days of initial hire.
- Specialized training in invasive procedures (tube feeding, catheterization) will be provided as required by assignment
