Job Summary
Paraprofessional position supporting middle/high school students with disabilities in Denver Public Schools. Responsibilities include assisting with testing and assessment, multimedia activities, record-keeping, discipline, and other activities; providing daily living support (toileting, diapering, feeding, personal hygiene); may perform medically invasive procedures and daily living tasks following universal precautions; may assist with community activities and transportation by driving an activity bus; lifts/transports students using proper equipment; supports development of lesson plans and provides feedback to teachers/supervisor; communicates with students and parents about routine educational issues.
Required Qualifications
- Paraprofessional qualifications guide (district specified)
- Must pass district-approved written and physical exams covering de-escalation and physical restraint training annually
- If transporting students or using personal/company vehicle, must have a valid Colorado driver’s license or be able to obtain within state-required timeframe
- Ability to meet physical demands of position
- Specialized training in invasive procedures (e.g., tube feeding, catheterization) will be provided as required by assignment
- Live and work with a permanent home address in Colorado
