Job Summary
Paraprofessional position in the Special Services department assisting teachers in educational settings. Responsibilities include working with the class, small groups, or individual students; presenting subject matter under teacher guidance; supervising students in classrooms, hallways, and on field trips; distributing materials; enforcing policies; assisting with self-care and use of adaptive equipment; supporting behavior modification and positive reinforcement; and maintaining confidentiality. Requires collaboration with classroom teachers, and may involve working with students with multiple physical, mental, and developmental disabilities. Possesses or attains a licensed paraprofessional credential or equivalent qualifications as defined (Associate’s degree or 60 credit hours; ACT WorkKeys or ETS ParaPro assessment or equivalent). Must demonstrate strong written and oral communication skills and ability to lift up to 50 lbs and push/pull up to 10 lbs.
Required Qualifications
- Associate’s degree from a regionally accredited institution or 60 semester hours of college coursework; or pass relevant assessment (ETS ParaPro or ACT WorkKeys) or hold an associated degree; or equivalent combination of diploma/qualification as specified in the posting.
