Job Summary
PBS Paraprofessional provides behavioral, instructional, and social-emotional support to students within general education and targeted settings under supervision of certified staff. Responsibilities include delivering small-group and individualized instruction, reinforcing academic concepts, supporting student engagement and on-task behavior, assisting in preparing instructional materials, implementing positive behavior interventions and supports (PBIS), managing student behavior in classrooms and school-wide settings, supporting implementation of behavior intervention plans, modeling constructive social interactions, assisting with data collection and progress monitoring related to student behavior, and communicating observations to teachers. The role requires collaboration with teachers, behavior-support staff, and administrators, maintaining confidentiality per FERPA and district policies, and participating in professional development. Qualifications include minimum age 18 and a high school diploma or equivalency; preferred qualifications include experience with students with disabilities and CPI de-escalation training, First Aid/CPR certification. Schedule is part-time during the school year (~32.5 hours/week when students are in session). Salary range indicates $16.92/hour base (Class III) with annualized pay of approximately $35,194.
