Job Summary
Paraprofessional One on One with Student AM in Springfield, IL, part-time role (8:00 AM to 12:00 PM) for 191 days per year. Assist teacher with students in the classroom and supervise students in lunchroom, playground, and bus transitions. Use copier to prepare classroom materials; assist with feeding/toileting for students requiring total care; assist with lifting/positioning of non-ambulatory students; help students with self-help skills; perform other duties as assigned. Requires educator licensure or valid Illinois teaching licensure or 90-day sub-licensure, high school diploma, ability to follow directions and maintain positive relationships with staff, and completion of CPI courses and related trainings.
Required Qualifications
- Educator Licensure with Stipulation or valid Illinois Teaching Licensure or 90-day sub licensure (to obtain an Educator Licensure with Stipulations from the Regional Superintendent’s Office, provide proof of 60 college hours or pass ETS ParaPro Assessment or ACT Work Keys Assessment)
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to perform all job-related functions
- Ability to understand and follow verbal or written directions
- Ability to communicate and maintain good working relationships with other employees and general staff of the assigned school
- Physical and TB test
- Must take CPI course and refresher courses
