Job Summary
Paraprofessional Literacy/Numeracy Instruction position at East Haven Academy requiring an associate degree or 60 credits (ParaPro exam passing score required; bachelor's degree preferred). 10-month, 25-hour/week role to supervise and support students under certified staff, assist with instruction and behavior support, administer and score assessments, and perform clerical duties. Requires collaboration with teachers, special education staff, and BCBA/IEP/ESL teams; trained to assist with adaptive equipment and non-pervasive hygiene care; CT criminal history check within 30 days of employment. Hourly pay ranges by category from $20.71 to $23.62, with limited benefits. East Haven Public Schools is an equal opportunity employer.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's degree or 60 college credits or CT ParaPro passing score
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- minimum 10 months, 25 hours per week
- CT teaching certificate considered in higher category
- Ability to supervise and support students in school setting
- Ability to administer, score, and maintain records of student achievement and tests
- Ability to work with teachers and support staff
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds
- Criminal history check as required by CT law
