Job Summary
Provide instructional assistance to students under the direct supervision of a certified teacher. Responsibilities include instructing reading, writing, and mathematics; preparing instructional materials and classroom displays; assisting with administration and scoring of objective tests; maintaining an orderly classroom and supporting substitute teachers. Additional duties include supervising students during lunch, bus, and playground times, communicating student needs to teachers, and participating in staff development and faculty activities. Experience with students and ability to work effectively with children required; ESSA Title I program involvement noted.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Formal academic assessment/associate’s degree/two years of study in higher learning
