Job Summary
Prepare instructional materials and support classroom activities under the direction of the Principal, Assistant Principal, or teacher. Reinforce new skills for individual students or small groups while assisting with data-driven strategies and behavior management plans. Maintain anecdotal notes, observe student progress, and implement IEP modifications to support general education instruction. Perform medically-based tasks such as toileting, feeding, and positioning students as needed. Operate office equipment and complete clerical duties including scoring work and attending in-service training. Maintain confidentiality and adhere to district policies while fostering a harassment-free environment.
Required Qualifications
- Valid State of Illinois Professional Educator License with Self-Contained General Education Endorsement or Educator License with Stipulations (PARA)
- Must be NCLB highly qualified
- Must be able to lift and/or move up to 20 pounds
- In-district and out-of-town travel is required as necessary for training and/or to carry out duties and responsibilities
Desired Qualifications
- High School Diploma or minimum of 30 semester hours of college credit/Degree preferred
