Job Summary
Under the supervision of a special education teacher, reinforce student learning and expectations while assisting with behavior intervention plans. Modify instructional materials, prepare classrooms, and support students during transitions, toileting, and mobility tasks. Collaborate with service providers to meet physical and training needs, maintain confidential student records, and complete required state-approved training. Work in a nine-month classified role supporting individualized attention and enrichment instruction for students.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Completed at least 2 years of study (48 hrs.) at an institution of higher ed
- Hold an associate's degree or higher
- Obtained a National Career Readiness Certificate through successful completion of the ACT, WorkKeys Assessment, or passed the Paraprofessional Assessment Test - Passing Score is 455
- Passed the Oklahoma General Education (OGET) Test
- Complete and maintain training and skills in Cardiovascular Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and First Aid
- Satisfy all district requirements with regard to physical health and citizenship
