Job Summary
Conduct daily paraprofessional support for exceptional students in classroom and outside settings, assisting with light to moderate physical tasks up to 60 pounds while communicating via speech, hearing, and vision. Operate data entry equipment, copiers, and other office tools as needed. Complete required in-service training in math, reading, Exceptional Student Education, and classroom management if applying for promotion or demotion. Undergo drug testing and background fingerprinting per statutory requirements and School Board Policy. Screening through Clearinghouse is mandatory. Required Qualifications
- Graduation from high school or GED
- Successfully complete a minimum of 48 semester college hours credited toward an Associate's degree and verified by college transcript
- A passing score on the PRAXIS exam
- Required completion of 14 hours of district-approved in-service in the areas of math, reading, Exceptional Student Education and classroom management
- Ability to lift light to moderate weight (up to 60 pounds)
- Subject to drug testing
- Subject to background fingerprinting
- Screening through Clearinghouse
