Job Summary
Support lessons taught by the teacher to individual students or groups and follow instructional plans as assigned. Help plan classroom activities, administer assigned duties in conformity with ACCEL Schools policies, and assist the teacher in student and parent relations. Provide oversight to ensure student safety, promote positive behaviors, and maintain cleanliness of the classroom, lunchroom, and other areas. Perform clerical duties such as grading papers and making copies, assist with classroom technology, and support school activities including parent-faculty nights, assemblies, and chaperoning. Manage morning, dismissal, and lunch duties while adhering to the school's philosophy and mission statement.
Required Qualifications
- Associate Degree, two years of college coursework, or the passage of the Para Professional's Exam
- Proficiency in MS Office
- Successful completion of BCI/FBI check
- Ability to meet educational standards as applicable
- Ability to work well under pressure, and effectively prioritize and execute tasks to meet deadlines consistently
- Understanding and ability to manage confidential information
- High quality written and verbal communication skills
- Physical ability to lift 25-40 lbs.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in a school or social services setting is a plus
