Job Summary
Support students with special needs in small group or 1:1 settings while building rapport and fostering a safe, nurturing learning environment. Work closely with resource teachers to assist in delivering IEPs and take direction from lead educators. Provide hands-on support for various moderate to severe scenarios, including toileting, personal 1:1 care, and managing challenging or aggressive behaviors in classroom and outdoor settings. Maintain physical readiness for sitting, standing, walking, and safely lifting up to 30 lbs. This paraprofessional role aligns with your skills through dedicated consultant matching and offers paid training, professional development, and reimbursement for background checks. Required Qualifications
- Passion for education and putting students first
- An empathetic nature, a growth mindset, and a drive to be the best you can be
- College credits, Associate's Degree, Bachelors Degree or CBEST
- Three professional references, including at least one from a previous supervisor
- State & federal background checks
- TB risk assessment or test
- Sitting, standing, and walking, and able to lift up to 30 lbs while safely assisting students
Desired Qualifications
- Worked with children who have Special Education needs
- Spent time in Special Education settings
- Any Special Education specific training
- ABA experience (Applied Behavior Analysis)
- Experience working in K-12 schools
- Experience with assisting in various mod to severe scenarios such as Toileting; Personal 1:1 Care; Non-Verbal; Challenging or Aggressive Behaviors in the Classroom
- Comfortable working with medically fragile/high behavior situations
