Job Summary
Paraprofessional I (Teacher Parapro/Classroom Assistant-Special Education) at Reagan Elementary, 7.5 hours. Performs clerical duties, data collection on student progress, assists with academic subjects and social skill development, reinforces learning in small groups, follows teacher-defined behavior management strategies, and may work in regular education classroom or resource room. Must have substantial coursework or an associate degree or pass the Teacher Parapro Praxis, obtain an Educational Aide Permit, and have experience with students with multiple and behavioral disabilities; some heavy lifting; CPI and Safety & Violence Training within 60 days. Salary per negotiated agreement.
Required Qualifications
- Must have completed at least two years of study at an institution of higher learning, OR hold an associate's degree, OR have passed the Teacher Parapro praxis exam.
- Must obtain an Educational Aide Permit with ESEA Qualifications through ODE prior to the first day of employment.
- Must possess experience working with children with multiple and behavioral disabilities.
- Some heavy lifting required.
- Must complete CPI and Safety & Violence Training within the first 60 days of accepting position.
