Job Summary
Paraprofessional supports classroom instruction and student supervision under the direct supervision of a certified teacher, contributing to a structured, safe, and productive learning environment. Responsibilities include assisting the classroom teacher in delivering instruction and managing routines, providing individual or small-group tutoring and academic support, supporting student behavior management in classrooms, hallways, cafeteria, and transitions, assisting with classroom preparation and field trip coordination, supporting bilingual communication and translation for students and families as applicable, and attending staff meetings and required professional development sessions.
Required Qualifications
- Completion of at least 60 semester credit hours at an accredited college or university
- Associate's degree or higher
- Passing score on an approved formal academic assessment (ETS ParaPro Assessment minimum 460; SAT 480+ EBRW and 530+ Math; or Michigan Basic Skills Exam)
- Satisfactory criminal background check
