Paraprofessional

Paraprofessional position to assist the teacher in achieving teaching objectives by working with individual students or small groups to help them achieve the skill levels of the class as a whole. Responsibilities include reinforcing material or skills with students, assisting in devising targeted strategies based on individual needs, operating and caring for classroom equipment, helping students master instructional materials, distributing/collecting workbooks and papers, guiding independent or remedial work, supervising students during drills, assemblies, play periods, and field trips, maintaining classroom displays, reading to students and listening to them read, assisting in the library, checking notebooks and attendance, collecting money, helping with student clothing, and performing other duties as assigned by teachers and the principal.
