Job Summary
Conduct non-teaching support services as a collaborative member of the educational team across various NwOESC classrooms and locations. Prepare and distribute classroom materials, maintain equipment, and assist with student daily living activities, behavior management, and instructional support. Help students manage the learning environment, access resources, and participate in activities such as arrival, lunch, recess, and field trips. Provide student assistance with discrete trial training, social skills training, and remedial or enrichment activities as directed. Maintain accurate records, verify data accuracy, and submit required paperwork on time while adhering to emergency management plans and safety protocols. Float to fill vacant positions throughout the NwOESC service area based on organizational priorities and staffing needs.
Required Qualifications
- Valid state department of education license/permit to serve as an educational paraprofessional
- Meets mandated state/federal criteria for paraprofessional
- Educational aide permit required
- Documents/maintains a record free of criminal violations that prohibit public school employment
- Displays flexibility, reliability, self-discipline and a willingness to take on challenging tasks
- Effective communication, problem-solving and time management skills
- Embodies high ethical standards/integrity
- Accepts responsibility for personal decisions/conduct
- Must obtain training and maintain skills to fulfill compliance requirements applicable to the position as required by board policy and state/federal law
