Job Summary
Provide instructional assistance to students under the direct supervision of a certified teacher by working with individual students or small groups. Assist in preparing instructional materials, administering and scoring objective tests, and maintaining classroom order. Help supervise students throughout the school day, including lunchroom, bus, and playground duty, while making teachers aware of special needs. Participate in staff development, faculty meetings, and follow district safety protocols. Requires a valid Texas educational aide certificate, high school diploma or GED, and ability to work well with children.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or hold a General Educational Development (GED) certificate
- Have met formal academic assessment, associate's degree, or two years of study at an institution of higher learning*
- Valid Texas educational aide certificate
- Ability to assist in instructing reading, writing, and mathematics
- Ability to work well with children
- Ability to communicate effectively
- Some experience working with children
