Job Summary
Paraprofessional supports certified staff in the classroom to meet instructional goals, assisting with reading, language arts, mathematics, and computer instruction, and helping with student supervision in both instructional and non-instructional areas. Responsibilities include assisting with tests and assessments, preparing instructional materials, supporting students with special needs and IEP objectives, supervising lunch, bus, playground, and study areas, accompanying field trips, maintaining student records, and fostering parent involvement. Key skills include basic arithmetic, use of personal computers (Word, Excel), ability to work with diverse students, maintaining confidentiality, and building supportive relationships to maximize inclusive learning.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Successful completion of college level coursework or passing of examination as required by the No Child Left Behind Act.
