Job Summary
Paraprofessional in the English Learner (EL) Program assists classroom teachers and support staff with instruction, reinforces learning for individuals or small groups, and helps monitor student progress by collecting data and maintaining records. The role requires English and Spanish proficiency, the ability to handle confidential information, physical stamina for a full day, and experience with educational technology. Responsibilities include supervising students during arrival/dismissal and lunch/recess, assisting with grading and homework as instructed, modeling appropriate behaviors, developing rapport with staff, and supporting data collection and progress monitoring as part of a collaborative instructional team.
Required Qualifications
- An Associate's degree, OR completion of 48 semester hours or 72 quarter hours at an institution of higher learning, OR demonstrated proficiency in the ability to assist in the instruction of reading, writing and mathematics via state or locally approved competency test.
