Job Summary
Provide curriculum-based English language acquisition support to students in designated subject areas by assisting with listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills. Prepare educational materials, deliver computer-based instruction for students below standardized test levels, and coordinate lesson plans with teachers. Present subject matter through lectures, discussions, or role-playing while supervising student groups and reinforcing positive behaviors. Communicate routine issues with students and parents in their native language and provide feedback on reading and writing assessments. Submit applications by August 11, 2026, via careers.dpsk12.org, and pass the Berlitz proficiency exam in speaking and reading. Bilingual in Spanish and English is required.
Required Qualifications
- ELA-S paraprofessional positions are required to complete a proficiency exam hosted by Berlitz
- The test has two parts, speaking and reading
- The candidate must pass in order to be hired for the position
- Bilingual in Spanish and English is required
