Job Summary
Paraprofessional at Learn4Life Pontiac (721) in Pontiac, MI, part-time, Monday-Friday, 9:00am-1:30pm, providing one-on-one support to students in a SAFE educational environment. Works with students in Special Education, Literacy, Sign Language Interpreter, English Language Learner, and Career Technical Education programs. Responsibilities include assisting educators with instructional duties, tutoring support, sign language interpretation, clerical tasks, data entry, coordinating meetings, translating communications between students and teachers, and supporting program implementation and student success. Requires collaboration with educators, ability to travel, MS Office proficiency, and the ability to lift up to 10 pounds. Education options include high school diploma or equivalent, 60 college credits, or Bachelor’s degree or higher; sign language interpretation qualifications preferred for interpreters.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or the equivalent, or completion of 60 college credits, or Bachelor’s degree or higher from a regionally accredited institution is required
- Knowledge of, and the ability to assist in instructing, reading, writing, and mathematics; or Knowledge of, and the ability to assist in instructing readiness, writing readiness, and mathematics readiness
- Sign Language Interpreter Qualifications: Fluent in sign language, certified by RID or equivalent (preferred for interpreting)
- Proficient level of skills in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and other educational technology applications
- Ability to travel in performance of job duties is required
- Ability to lift, carry, push, pull objects weighing up to 10 pounds
