Job Summary
Assist in conducting testing, assessment, multi-media activities, and general office clerical tasks while providing daily living procedures such as toileting, feeding, and personal hygiene. May provide medically invasive procedures like tube feeding and catheterization, and offer transportation assistance by driving an activity bus if required. Lift and transport students using appropriate equipment, and assist in developing lesson plans with feedback to teachers. Communicate and coordinate with students and parents regarding routine educational issues. This role supports the educational and behavioral needs of elementary students with disabilities across integrated and self-contained settings within Denver Public Schools.
Required Qualifications
- Must pass District approved written and physical exams covering de-escalation and physical restraint training, on an annual basis
- Must have valid driver's license
- Must have a good driving record
- Must meet District insurability requirements
- Must have the ability with or without accommodations to meet the physical demands of the position
- Must live and work with a permanent home address in Colorado
