Job Summary
Assist in conducting testing and assessment, manage multi-media activities, handle general office and clerical tasks, and maintain record-keeping and computer operations. Provide daily living procedures including toileting, diapering, feeding, and personal hygiene, and may perform medically invasive tasks such as tube feeding and catheterization following universal precautions. Support lesson plan development, coordinate with students and parents on educational issues, and provide transportation assistance by driving an activity bus if required. Lift and transport students using appropriate equipment and technique according to District training. This role supports the educational, behavioral, social-emotional, physical, and daily living needs of elementary students with disabilities in integrated, resource, self-contained, and community settings within Denver Public Schools.
Required Qualifications
- Must pass District approved written and physical exams covering de-escalation and physical restraint training, on an annual basis
- Must have the ability with or without accommodations to meet the physical demands of the position
- Must live and work with a permanent home address in Colorado
- Must have the ability with or without accommodations to meet the physical demands of the position
- Must have valid driver's license, a good driving record, and meet District insurability requirements (if transporting students)
