Job Summary
Elementary Paraprofessional provides student assistance for K-5 students under supervision of K-5 teachers, conducts small group/individual activities, assists with instruction materials, supports media center operations, and helps with routine school duties. Requires GaPSC-accepted associate degree or 60 college hours or GACE Paraprofessional with high school diploma/GED eligibility; bilingual/bicultural experience may be required for certain positions. The role starts at a step 6 for a grade 16, 190-day position, located in Morrow, GA; salary range around $23,910–$33,252. The paraprofessional will work under teachers to support classroom learning, assist with inventory and material preparation, and supervise students in the absence of the media specialist.
Required Qualifications
- Hold an associate’s degree or higher in any subject from a GaPSC-accepted accredited institution
- Have completed two (2) years of college coursework (sixty [60] semester hours or [90] quarter hours) above the remedial level with a grade of “C” or better at a GaPSC-accepted accredited institution
- Have passed the GACE Paraprofessional Assessment and hold a minimum of a high school diploma or GED equivalent
- Paraprofessional experience serving school age children desirable
- Must hold or be eligible for a GaPSC-issued Paraprofessional License
