Job Summary
Assist and support a child at home or in the classroom while serving as a positive role model. Help students with classwork and homework, and provide one-on-one or small group support as needed. Support teachers in delivering instructional lessons and classroom activities to reinforce positive behavior and promote student success. Maintain a safe, structured, and positive learning environment and monitor student progress to report observations to teaching staff. Support students with special needs in accordance with individualized education plans (IEPs). This role is located in Staten Island, NY, with a pay range of USD $19.00 - USD $19.00 /Hr.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Ability to follow teacher instructions and support classroom activities
- Basic reading, writing, and math skills
- Ability to stay organized and manage multiple tasks in a school environment
- Physically able to assist students and move throughout the classroom as needed
Desired Qualifications
- Previous experience working with children or in an educational setting
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Patience, reliability, and the ability to work as part of a team
