Job Summary
Paraprofessional role in an elementary setting providing classroom and personal care support under teacher supervision. Responsibilities include working with small groups or individuals, reinforcing materials, assisting with remedial activities, facilitating a positive learning environment, aiding with student mobility and use of assistive devices, helping with personal hygiene and feeding as trained, supervising activities, and performing clerical tasks related to classroom activities. Requires ability to learn required skills, maintain professionalism, communicate effectively, adapt materials to meet needs, and participate in staff meetings and professional development. Minimum qualification includes a high school diploma or GED and the Educational Aide Permit; health and background clearances are required.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Holds or is qualified to obtain an Educational Aide Permit
- Ability to physically manage students with disabilities
- Clear criminal record
- Health requirements including tuberculosis test
- First aid/CPR training may be required
