Job Summary
Assist students with direct care and daily living activities, including toileting, hygiene, feeding, and mobility transfers while maintaining confidentiality and professional boundaries. Support instructional activities by prompting seatwork, reviewing assignments, and implementing Individual Education Plan components like behavior support and home-school communication. Maintain classroom order, perform housekeeping tasks, and accompany students during arrivals, dismissals, field trips, and therapy sessions. Collect daily data through behavior charts and progress monitoring, then complete all required documentation for patients and families. Report significant condition changes to supervisors and communicate with teachers and administration as directed.
Required Qualifications
- High school graduate, GED or equivalent of education and training
- Registration or Certification as required by state law and regulation
- Current CPR certification
- Demonstrated proficiency in clinical assessments, documentation and compliance with aide care and policies and procedures
- Basic computer skills
- Must be able to speak, write, read and understand English
- Must be able to travel to/from school/job location on a consistent and timely basis
- Must be able to lift 25 pounds
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds
- Must have visual and hearing acuity
- Must have strong sense of smell and touch
- Must be able to sufficiently reposition students and move equipment without assistance
- Must have sufficient strength and manual dexterity to safely operate equipment, including grasping and manipulating small objects
- Must be able to appropriately respond physically and mentally to emergency situations
- Must be able and willing to wear personal protective equipment as needed
- Must comply with all health-related requirements in all relevant jurisdictions, including required vaccinations and testing
