Job Summary
Paraprofessional assists Minot Public School students in classroom settings with educational programs and special assignments, provides assistance to teachers, supervises and guides students, helps with development of lesson plans and individualized learning plans, monitors student behavior, and maintains confidentiality. Requires an Associate’s Degree with relevant experience or a high school diploma plus Paraprofessional certification; CPI/CPR/First Aid training may be required; background checks are required. Part-time position (~6.25 hours/day) in Minot, ND, with duties spanning classroom support, small group interventions, and coordination with teachers to support learning and behavioral goals.
Required Qualifications
- Associate’s Degree; AND one year of experience working with children; OR High school diploma and Paraprofessional certification from North Dakota Department of Public Instruction; OR an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Must pass a thorough background investigation.
- A valid North Dakota State Driver’s License may be required; Paraprofessional certification from North Dakota Department of Public Instruction is required; Crisis Prevention intervention (CPI) training and certification may be required for some incumbents; CPR and First Aid training is preferred.
