Job Summary
Paraprofessional in a K-8 charter school providing support for students with disabilities: delivers small group and individualized instruction per supervising teacher plans; collects instructional and behavioral data; implements Behavior Intervention Plans; supervises students during transitions, meals, and recess; assists with healthcare procedures and use of assistive technology; collaborates with grade-level/content teams; reports to the principal. Role emphasizes supporting teachers, ensuring student progress, and maintaining a safe, engaging classroom environment. Requires GA paraprofessional licensure eligibility, an associate’s degree or 60 college hours, and successful completion of the GACE Paraprofessional Assessment.
Required Qualifications
- Two years’ prior success in this role (preferred)
- Must either hold or be eligible for a Georgia Professional Standards Commission (GaPSC) paraprofessional license and clearance certification
- Hold an associate’s degree or higher in any subject from a GaPSC-accepted accredited institution
- Have completed two (2) years of college coursework (sixty [60] semester hours) above the remedial level with a grade of “C” or better at a GaPSC-accepted accredited institution
- Have passed the GACE Paraprofessional Assessment and hold a minimum of a high school diploma or GED equivalent
