Paraprofessional ages 6-21 - Multiple Positions (Child Specific)

Paraprofessional 6-21 years in Ascension Parish School Board assists Special Education Teacher in meeting goals outlined in students’ IEPs. Responsibilities include implementing tutorial activities (small group/individual), toileting/hygiene procedures, medical record keeping, and preparation of class work. Performs physical tasks including lifting up to 50 pounds and various mobility activities. Requires coursework or degree in higher education (ParaPro 450, or two years of college with general education hours, or an Associate’s degree). Mandatory training in instructional strategies/techniques, CPR/non-complex health procedures, CPI, Ethics, ADA requirements, and handling child medical needs. General duties include supporting instructional processes, data collection, PBIS and disciplinary procedures, attendance, and collaboration with teachers and administrative staff. Must be physically able to perform duties, be computer literate, and comply with district policies. 7.5 hours per day, 180 days, with probationary period; at-will employment terms. Located in Geismar, Louisiana.
