Paraprofessional - 1:1 - Special Education - Level 1

Paraprofessional – Special Education in a school setting providing one-to-one or small-group support to students with disabilities. Responsibilities include assisting with physical tasks, reinforcing instructional content, supporting students during transitions and activities, maintaining a positive classroom environment, tracking progress, aiding data collection and documentation, and collaborating with special education and general education staff. Requires basic computer skills, understanding of IEP goals, ability to work cooperatively in a team, and maintaining confidentiality; in addition, duties include assisting substitutes, supporting routines and behavior management, and participating in ongoing professional development. The role emphasizes direct student support, supervision, and aiding the instructional program under the supervision of a building administrator and special education staff.
