Job Summary

Supports one or more individual secondary students with disabilities in various settings by assisting with academic, health, daily living, and behavioral needs; monitors activities to reinforce classroom objectives; provides daily living support (toileting, feeding, personal hygiene) and medically invasive procedures under supervision; assists with safe student transport using proper techniques; supports implementation of IEP-based accommodations and behavior/health care plans; collects data on IEP goals under supervision; coordinates with students and parents on routine educational issues, under guidance of the supervising teacher. Leads and participates in de-escalation and restraint training; adheres to district policies and equality commitments; requires Colorado driver’s license for transportation duties and legal residency in Colorado.

Required Qualifications

  • Paraprofessional qualifications guide referenced in role description
  • Specialized training in invasive procedures will be provided as assigned
  • Must pass district-approved written and physical exams including de-escalation and restraint training
  • Training to be completed within 75 days of initial hire
  • Valid Colorado driver’s license or ability to obtain one within required timeframe (if transporting students)
  • Live and work with a permanent home address in Colorado
