Job Summary
Provide 1:1 support to secondary students with mild to moderate disabilities in integrated, resource, self-contained, and community settings, addressing their educational, behavioral, social-emotional, physical, and daily living needs. Monitor classroom activities and assignments under the supervising teacher's direction to reinforce learning goals. Implement individualized accommodations and modifications outlined in IEPs across academic and nonacademic settings. Assist with daily living procedures including toileting, feeding, and personal hygiene, and administer medically invasive procedures such as tube feeding and catheterization following universal precautions. Collect data on IEP goals and coordinate with students and parents regarding routine educational issues. Lift and transport students using appropriate equipment and technique.
Required Qualifications
- Must pass District approved written and physical exams covering de-escalation and physical restraint training, on an annual basis.
- Required training must be completed within 75 days of initial hire.
- If transporting students or using personal or a company vehicle to conduct work duties, they must have a valid Colorado driver's license or be able to obtain a Colorado driver's license within the state's required time frame for new residents and meet the District's insurability requirements.
- Have the ability with or without accommodations to meet the physical demands of the position.
- Live and work with a permanent home address in Colorado while working with us.
