Job Summary
Provides services to one or more individual students as outlined in their IEP, including supporting academic, health, daily living, and behavioral needs. Monitors classroom activities under the supervision of the supervising teacher to reinforce objectives and meet learning goals. Performs daily living procedures (toileting, diapering, feeding, personal hygiene) as trained and may perform medically invasive procedures following universal precautions. Lifts and transports students using appropriate equipment and technique. Supports implementation of students’ behavior intervention plans, crisis plans, and health care plans. Implements accommodations and modifications per IEP in academic and nonacademic settings. Collects data on students’ IEP goals under supervision and communicates with students and parents about routine educational issues. Live and work with a permanent home address in Colorado. Includes ability to meet physical demands of the position and compliance with equal opportunity commitments.
Required Qualifications
- Paraprofessional qualifications guide
- Specialized training in invasive procedures will be provided
- Must pass District approved written and physical exams covering de-escalation and physical restraint training, on an annual basis
- Required training must be completed within 75 days of initial hire
- If transporting students or using personal or a company vehicle to conduct work duties, they must have a valid Colorado driver’s license or be able to obtain one within the state’s required time frame
- Live and work with a permanent home address in Colorado while working with us
