Job Summary
Lead the qualitative and quantitative assessment, pricing, and underwriting of parametric insurance and reinsurance transactions, structuring triggers and payout mechanisms while analysing catastrophe model outputs and climate datasets. Support portfolio diversification through impact assessment and capacity deployment, contributing to underwriting guidelines and risk appetite frameworks. Collaborate with Business Development, R&D, Finance, and Legal teams to execute new transactions and in-force monitoring, developing tools for pricing frameworks and claims capabilities. Act as a key technical stakeholder ensuring effective coordination across the organization. Based in London with international travel, this role supports the global assessment and structuring of climate and natural catastrophe risks through investment vehicles like the Natural Disaster Fund.
Required Qualifications
- At least 7 years of experience in underwriting in the related NatCat, weather and Agri field
- Fluency in English
- A UK work permit
- Strong technical understanding of weather/catastrophe risk assessment and risk transfer structures
- Strong analytic background: actuarial pricing, climate risk analytics ie experience analysing weather data and catastrophe model outputs
- Experience contributing to portfolio management, accumulation assessment or underwriting strategy
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, including client/broker facing situations
