Job Summary
Paramedic - Urgent Care role focused on rapid evaluation and treatment of life-threatening emergencies in an urgent care setting. Responsibilities include providing patient/family centered care, implementing therapies within scope of practice, collaborating with nursing and medical teams to establish treatment goals, ensuring patient safety and privacy, utilizing technology and EMR for documentation, and participating in professional practice and quality initiatives. Requires strong communication, teamwork, and the ability to respond effectively to diverse patient populations; adherence to state OEMS guidelines and hospital policies.
Required Qualifications
- Paramedic certification from an accredited certified paramedic program, or an Associate's of Applied Science (A.A.S.) Degree in Paramedic studies or equivalent
- Three years of Emergency Service experience preferred
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS)
- StateOEMS certification as EMT-P required
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) may be required within one year in select areas
- Critical Care certificate or National Registry paramedic preferred
- Maintains certification through affiliation with approved applicable state-OEMS education provider
