Job Summary
Provide medical support at a BioLife Plasma Services donation center as Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse). Responsibilities include determining donor eligibility, managing donor adverse events, reviewing laboratory test results and securing donor notification of unsuitable results. Functions under the Center Manager (or Assistant Manager) for operations and the Center Physician for medical issues; adheres to SOPs and supports EHS programs. Requirements include EMT-Paramedic licensure, CPR/AED, IV therapy readiness, and at least two years of clinical/hospital experience. The role involves donor safety, informed consent processes, and coordination with center leadership and medical affairs; salary is hourly with part-time status at a Springfield, MO center.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent including graduate equivalent of recognized nursing program
- Current EMT-Paramedic licensure in state of responsibilities
- CPR and AED certification
- Meet state requirements for basic IV therapy
- Complete FDA approved training for BioLife Medical Support Specialist
- Two years of clinical or hospital experience
