Job Summary
Assess and provide advanced patient care using medical equipment, defibrillators, and medications while driving the ambulance to minimize response times. Communicate with dispatchers to receive call data, monitor the unit's condition and stock levels, and document patient care and billing activities. Maintain all required certifications, follow policies regarding out-of-chute times, and collaborate with allied health personnel. Work past scheduled shifts with little notice as needed. This role supports Global Medical Response's emergency and patient relocation services through compassionate, cost-effective care delivery.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Current state Paramedic License
- Valid State Driver's License
- Current BCLS, ACLS, PALS or PEPP, BTLS or PHTLS Provider Certification (where applicable or required by contract)
- Driving record in compliance with AMR Safety and Driving policy
- Must be able to successfully pass Physical Agility Test
- Good physical stamina, endurance, and body condition that would not be adversely affected by frequently having to walk, stand, lift, carry, and balance at times
- Must be able to lift, drag, hoist, and carry different types of equipment and other objects
- Ability to work past scheduled shift with little or no notice
