Job Summary
Paramedic PRN role providing professional care for acutely ill/injured patients in ground ambulance pre-hospital and hospital settings. Responsibilities include patient assessment, triage, planning and delivering care, documenting patient care reports within 24 hours, maintaining equipment, performing vehicle operations safely, providing stand-by EMS service at events, and assisting with station duties. Requires Iowa Paramedic certification, BLS/ACLS/PALS within designated timelines, mandatory abuse reporting training, valid driver’s license, and ability to meet Mercy’s safety standards; rotating, part-time schedule.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or high school equivalency
- Current Paramedic certification in the State of Iowa
- BLS certification (American Heart Association)
- ACLS certification (American Heart Association)
- PALS training required within three months of hire
- Dependent Adult and Child Abuse Mandatory Reporter training within 3 months of hire
- Valid driver’s license
- Mercy Motor Vehicle Safety Standards compliance
- Emergency Vehicle Operations training within six months of hire
