Job Summary
The Paramedic (PRN) role involves providing Advanced Life Support and medical evaluation in emergency situations, ensuring scene safety, and managing patient care. This position requires excellent communication skills, the ability to document medical care accurately, and strong problem-solving abilities. Candidates must have an active DC RN license or be a Nationally Registered Paramedic with relevant certifications, and experience in emergency or critical care is preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Active DC RN license or Nationally Registered Paramedics
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support
- DC DOH approved CPR for Healthcare Providers
- Pass an FBI fingerprint background check
Desired Qualifications
- Paramedic - Preferred at least one year as a released
- RN - Emergency Department or ICU experience
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support - preferred
Additional Requirements
- Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Must be able to communicate providing verbal feedback in a professional manner
- Must be able to operate computer equipment and software programs used
- Must be able to follow and understand instructions and react favorably in all work situations
- Must be able to evaluate the condition of patients to determine appropriate care
- Must be able to administer proper treatment under the scope of a Paramedic
- Must be able to appropriately document medical care in an electronic medical record
- Must have strong interpersonal skills and be mentally adaptable and flexible in dealing with a variety of people at various levels within and outside the GW Medical Faculty Associates
- Must be able to do medication calculations
- Regularly exposed to healthcare settings that may require personal protective equipment
