Job Summary
Paramedic responsible for providing safe, high-quality medical transportation up to the advanced life support level to and from medical facilities under the direction of Valley Medical Transport’s dispatch center and Operations Manager. Requires high school diploma or equivalent, valid driver’s license, DOT medical examiner’s certificate, BLS certification, EMT paramedic certification (state and/or National Registry), EVOC or equivalent, and completion of required certifications (ACLS, PALS) within specified timelines. Duties include accurate data entry into an electronic medical record, navigating Windows, and maintaining an acceptable driving record. Orientation includes EVOC training and certification timelines; role emphasizes patient transport, safety, and adherence to policies. Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver's license
- DOT Medical Examiner's certificate
- BLS Certification (American Heart Association Healthcare Provider)
- EMT Paramedic for primary state and/or National Registry or both
- EMT Paramedic for primary state required by end of six-month orientation
- EMT Paramedic for secondary state within 12 months of hire date
- VA EVOC (Emergency Vehicle Operators Certificate) or approved equivalent
- EVOC will be provided during orientation
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) course completion or approved equivalent
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) course completion or approved equivalent
- Must be 18 years of age
- Basic level ability navigating in Microsoft Windows and data entry into electronic medical record
- Must have driving record acceptable to insurance
- Must be able to perform pharmacological calculations
