Job Summary
The Paramedic in the Emergency Department provides essential patient care including transportation, vital signs monitoring, selective treatments, and emergency interventions. Responsibilities involve communication with RN and physician about patient health, initiating lifesaving measures, wound care, conducting basic lab procedures, and assisting in departmental operations. This role requires state certification, basic life support knowledge, and specific advanced certifications. The position is part-time and suitable for entry-level candidates.
Required Qualifications
- State certified EMT-P course completion
- EMT-P Certification, State of Indiana
- Basic Life Safety (American Heart Association)
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or ENPC
- Competencies for routine clinical tests and procedures must be obtained within one year of employment in position
